1. Refund policy at a glance
ManavWrite provides digital writing, editing, translation, proofreading and AI-assisted writing services. Because these services are delivered electronically, a refund is not automatically available simply because a customer changes their mind, does not use a purchased plan, or dislikes a result that was produced in accordance with the service offered.
Refund eligibility depends on the product or subscription purchased, the terms disclosed at checkout, the payment status, whether the service was supplied, whether there was a material deficiency or mismatch, and the facts of the individual complaint.
Mandatory-rights safeguard: Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, waive or contract out of a consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Indian law. Where a mandatory legal provision gives a consumer a remedy, that provision prevails to the extent of any conflict.
2. Scope and applicable Indian legal framework
This policy applies to paid subscriptions, digital writing services, AI-assisted features, credits or other paid services offered by ManavWrite through its website or other authorised digital channels.
For India-facing transactions, ManavWrite intends its commercial practices to operate consistently with applicable consumer- protection and e-commerce requirements, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and, where applicable, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, together with amendments, regulations and other applicable laws in force from time to time.
The Department of Consumer Affairs' e-commerce framework addresses information concerning refunds, cancellations, payment methods, grievance redressal and complaint tracking. Applicable rules also protect consumers where goods or services are defective, deficient, materially different from what was advertised or agreed, or otherwise fall within the circumstances covered by the rules.
Important: This page is a commercial refund policy, not a substitute for statutory consumer law. A contract term cannot lawfully remove a mandatory right merely because the website describes the purchase as digital or non-refundable.
3. When ManavWrite may issue a refund
Subject to verification and applicable law, a full or partial refund may be approved in circumstances including:
- Duplicate payment. The same intended purchase was successfully charged more than once.
- Billing error. An amount was charged incorrectly and the discrepancy is verified.
- Paid but not activated. Payment succeeded but the purchased service was not supplied or activated and cannot reasonably be restored.
- Material service failure. A substantial ManavWrite-side technical failure prevented use of a material paid feature and the problem cannot reasonably be corrected.
- Material mismatch. The paid service materially failed to conform to its advertised or agreed characteristics or features.
- Unauthorised transaction. A transaction is verified as unauthorised after appropriate investigation, subject to applicable banking and payment-provider procedures.
- Legal requirement. A refund or other remedy is required by applicable law, regulation or a binding order of a competent authority.
- Goodwill resolution. ManavWrite may, at its discretion, approve a refund or other commercial remedy in appropriate circumstances.
4. Cases where refunds are normally not available
Subject to mandatory law and the facts of a particular transaction, a refund will not normally be available solely because:
- You changed your mind after purchase.
- You did not use a subscription, feature, words or credits that remained available to you.
- You no longer need the service.
- You forgot to cancel before a clearly disclosed renewal.
- You expected an AI result to be identical to a particular human-written result.
- You dislike an output even though the paid service operated substantially as described.
- The result was materially affected by the prompt, source material, instructions, language, tone, audience or settings selected by you.
- A temporary outage was resolved within a reasonable period and did not create a material unremedied service failure.
- Free, promotional or bonus credits were not purchased for monetary consideration.
- You seek a refund while intentionally retaining paid benefits that have already been refunded.
No blanket “no refunds” rule: These are ordinary commercial positions only. ManavWrite will not rely on them to deny a refund or other remedy where applicable law requires one.
5. Subscription cancellation
5.1 Cancelling future renewal
You may cancel a recurring subscription using the cancellation method made available through your account or by contacting support where applicable.
Unless the checkout terms expressly state otherwise, cancellation normally stops the next renewal. It does not automatically convert the already-paid current billing period into a refundable period.
5.2 Access after cancellation
Where the applicable plan provides continued access until the end of the paid billing period, cancellation normally leaves that access in place until the period ends. If the plan terms provide otherwise, the applicable disclosed terms govern, subject to mandatory law.
5.3 Account deletion
Deleting an account is not itself a refund request. If you have a recurring subscription, use the cancellation process as well.
6. Subscription renewals
If automatic renewal is offered, the applicable price, billing frequency and renewal conditions should be disclosed through the purchase or subscription interface. Customers should cancel before the next renewal when they no longer want the service.
A successfully completed renewal is not automatically refundable merely because the customer did not use the service or forgot to cancel. This position does not remove any statutory, payment-system or contractual remedy that applies to the transaction.
Where an electronic mandate or recurring-payment facility is used, applicable payment-system and RBI requirements may also apply.
7. Technical problems, outages and service interruptions
ManavWrite may depend on hosting, internet connectivity, payment processors, AI infrastructure and other third-party systems. A short interruption does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
We will first attempt to investigate and reasonably correct a material technical problem. Depending on the facts, an appropriate remedy may include restoration of access, additional service time, service credit, replacement of the affected service, partial refund or full refund.
Fairness principle: A genuine material failure of a paid service will be reviewed on its facts rather than rejected solely by reference to a general no-refund condition.
8. AI-generated content and writing results
ManavWrite uses AI and automated processing for functions such as rewriting, humanization, translation, proofreading and related writing assistance. Output can vary based on source text, prompt, context, language, tone, audience and settings.
AI output is not guaranteed to be factually perfect, identical to a particular human-written version, or suitable for every purpose. Users should review important content before publishing, submitting or relying on it.
A subjective preference about an output does not by itself establish a service defect. However, if a paid AI feature is materially unavailable, repeatedly fails because of a ManavWrite-side technical problem, or materially differs from the service characteristics represented at purchase, the customer may request a review.
9. Failed, pending, duplicate and unauthorised payments
9.1 Failed or pending payment
If your bank, card or payment instrument shows a debit but ManavWrite did not confirm the purchase, the payment may need to settle or reverse through the payment gateway or bank. If it does not reverse within the applicable payment-system timeline, contact us with the transaction reference.
9.2 RBI failed-transaction framework
RBI has a framework prescribing turnaround times and compensation for certain failed transactions through authorised payment systems. For example, the framework covers specified failed card, IMPS and UPI situations. These payment-system timelines are not a universal refund deadline for every service dispute; the applicable rule depends on the transaction type and circumstances.
Where a failed transaction is covered by an applicable RBI framework, the bank/payment-system participant remains responsible for the applicable reversal and compensation obligations.
9.3 Duplicate charge
If one intended purchase was charged twice, send both transaction references, dates and amounts. After verification, the duplicate amount will normally be returned through the appropriate payment route.
9.4 Unauthorised transaction
If you believe a transaction was unauthorised, contact ManavWrite promptly and notify your bank or payment provider where appropriate. Never send your OTP, UPI PIN, CVV, password or other secret authentication information to support.
10. Refund eligibility summary
The following examples explain how common payment, billing, subscription and service situations are generally handled. Every case may still require verification of the transaction and the applicable terms.
| Situation | Typical action | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate charge | Investigate the duplicate transaction and refund the qualifying duplicate amount. | Review |
| Charged but service not activated | Verify the successful payment and check why the purchased service was not activated. | Review |
| Payment failed but amount temporarily debited | Check the payment gateway or bank status and the applicable reversal process. | Payment review |
| Unauthorised transaction | Contact ManavWrite and the relevant bank, card issuer or payment provider promptly so the transaction can be investigated. | Investigation |
| Charged a different amount | Compare the transaction with the amount shown at checkout and investigate any verified billing discrepancy. | Review |
| Charged after cancellation | Verify the cancellation date, renewal status and billing record to determine whether the charge was correctly processed. | Billing review |
| Subscription renewed unexpectedly | Check the subscription terms, renewal status and account history. Any refund is assessed according to the circumstances and applicable terms. | Review |
| Payment successful but account shows unpaid | Match the payment reference with the ManavWrite account and correct the service status where the payment is verified. | Review |
| UPI or bank payment is pending | Allow the payment system to complete or reverse the transaction, then investigate if the final status does not update correctly. | Payment review |
| Refund approved but not received | Check the refund reference and payment-provider status, then coordinate with the relevant bank or payment provider if necessary. | Trace refund |
| Coupon or promotional price not applied | Verify the eligibility and terms of the promotion and compare them with the amount actually charged. | Billing review |
| Wrong plan or product purchased | Review the transaction, selected plan and account history. Any correction or refund depends on the circumstances and applicable terms. | Case review |
| Paid feature materially unavailable | Investigate the technical failure and attempt restoration or another appropriate remedy before determining whether a refund is required. | Review |
| Service materially different from what was advertised | Compare the purchased service with the applicable description and investigate any verified material mismatch. | Review |
| Incorrect tax or billing detail | Verify the invoice, tax information and transaction amount and correct any confirmed billing error. | Billing review |
| Partial service failure | Assess which part of the paid service was affected and consider restoration, service credit, partial refund or another appropriate remedy. | Case review |
| Service stopped shortly after purchase | Check account status, service logs and the reason access stopped, then restore access or assess an appropriate remedy where justified. | Case review |
| Payment gateway shows success but ManavWrite shows failed | Match the gateway transaction reference with the account and verify whether the payment was received or later reversed. | Payment review |
| Charged for an upgrade or downgrade incorrectly | Compare the plan change, effective date and amount charged with the account billing history and correct any verified error. | Billing review |
| Refund amount appears incorrect | Review the original charge, approved refund amount, taxes and any applicable partial-refund calculation. | Refund review |
| Service credit offered instead of refund | Where appropriate, ManavWrite may offer restoration, additional service time or credit as a remedy, subject to applicable law. | Remedy review |
11. How to request a refund
Submit your request through the ManavWrite contact page or email support@manavwrite.com.
- Provide the name and email address associated with the account.
- Provide the order, invoice, subscription or transaction reference.
- State the date and amount of the payment.
- Explain clearly why you are requesting the refund.
- Attach relevant evidence or screenshots where useful.
- Allow reasonable time for transaction verification and investigation.
For your security, do not send full card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, OTPs, passwords or other authentication secrets.
12. Refund review and processing times
ManavWrite aims to acknowledge and review billing and refund complaints promptly. The investigation period can depend on payment verification, gateway records, account history, service logs and the complexity of the complaint.
Once a refund is approved, it will normally be initiated through the original payment method or another appropriate payment mechanism. The time for the money to appear in the customer's account may depend on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer or other financial intermediary.
Where a specific statutory or payment-system turnaround time applies, that applicable rule governs. There is no single universal Indian statutory rule requiring every type of online-service refund to appear in every customer's account within fourteen days.
13. Indian consumer rights
The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 provides a framework for protecting consumer interests and addressing complaints including qualifying deficiencies in services and unfair trade practices. Applicable e-commerce rules also require transparency concerning refund, cancellation and grievance mechanisms and preserve specified consumer protections.
Where applicable e-commerce rules require a remedy because a service is defective, deficient, or materially inconsistent with what was advertised or agreed, ManavWrite will not rely on this commercial policy to defeat that mandatory remedy.
A consumer may also use applicable statutory grievance and consumer-dispute mechanisms. Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from exercising a legal remedy available under Indian law.
Statutory safeguard: If this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the mandatory legal provision prevails to the extent of the conflict.
14. Grievance redressal
ManavWrite maintains a support and grievance mechanism for complaints relating to its services. Where the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 apply to ManavWrite's activities, the applicable grievance-redressal requirements will be followed.
The official e-commerce guidance describes publication of the Grievance Officer's name and contact details, a mechanism for complaints, complaint tracking and redressal within the period prescribed by the applicable framework. The rules/guidance should be read as amended or updated from time to time.

Where legally permitted, accounts may be restricted while a fraud or payment investigation is conducted.
This section does not limit any legitimate consumer right or lawful payment dispute.
